GLASS - Copper Foil Technique

In this workshop you will learn about the different types of glass used for copper foil projects, how to choose your glass, cut  and grind it into shape. You will learn how important design is and how to cut out a pattern in glass and to solder using the method that Tiffany favoured copper foil. You will be able to choose a project from a number of designs or you can design your own project with support and guidance. 

Materials will be available dependent on project size. Contact Fiona to discuss what you have in mind. ~ Workshops are kept small  with a max of 6 ~.Bring a packed lunch, tea & coffee are provided

GLASS - LeadedTechnique

In this workshop you will learn how to construct a leaded panel. You will learn about the different types of glass used, how to choose your glass, as well as cutting  and fitting the lead. You will learn how important design is and how to cut out a pattern and solder the lead in place.  You will be able to choose a project from a number of designs or design your own project with support and guidance.   

Materials will be available dependent on project size. Contact Fiona to discuss what you have in mind. ~ Workshops are kept small  with a max of 6.

GLASS - Fused

In this workshop  you will learn the techniques involved in  fusing glass. You will learn how to cut and grind  glass and prepare it for fusing. We will discuss glass compatibility  and kiln preparation and you will learn about  frits (glass powders), stringers (glass rods), dichroic glass (glass coated with metallic oxide) & standard fusing glasses.

The cost includes materials for 1 to 3 projects (dependent on size) & firing.  Workshops are kept small with a max of 6. Tea & coffee are provided

Note glass will be fused in the kiln and can be collected a couple of days after the workshop

HALF DAY WORKSHOP 12noon - 3pm   £45

SILK BATIK

Learn the technique of Batik Silk by using  batik tjantings (a small brass reservoir with a drawing spout)   to draw an outline in wax then paint directly on to silk using vibrant  dyes to create a unique piece of  Art. You will be shown how to stretch the silk, use the tjanting with the hot wax to act as a resist to the colourful dyes which we then paint onto the silk by hand. You will then finish your design by removing the wax and setting the dyes by ironing the fabric. You will complete a design which you can take home. The cost includes materials. Workshops are kept small normally with a maximum of 6 people. Bring a packed lunch if attending a day workshop, tea & coffee are provided
